The job
What you will actually be doing.
You walk residential routes
We assign you a route in a Calgary or Red Deer neighbourhood. You walk it on foot, house to house.
You hang door hangers
One hanger per home, on the handle, where the homeowner will actually see it.
You log photo proof in the app
The StreetDrop app tracks your route and takes photo proof of the work. It is how you get credited for the hours you put in.
You are paid by the hour
For the hours you work on assigned routes. Hours depend on the routes available and are not guaranteed from week to week.
The pay
$18.00 an hour.
Straight talk about the work
This is a walking job. You are outdoors, on your feet, covering residential streets in whatever weather Calgary decides to hand you. It is physical work. People who like being outside and moving all day tend to do well at it. If you are looking for a desk, this is not it.

Orientation, paperwork, the app on your phone, and your first route.

Before anything else
Eight lines, and they are all things a route genuinely needs. Answer them honestly. Nothing is saved or sent at this point, so a No here costs you nothing but the minute you have already spent.
I am legally entitled to work in Canada.
I am 16 or older.
I can walk for at least three hours at a time, outdoors, carrying about ten pounds of hangers.
I have a smartphone with a working camera and GPS, and data I can use during a shift.
I am willing to walk routes in rain, snow and cold.
I can get myself to a route start anywhere in my city, by car, transit or a ride.
I can commit to at least two shifts a week for at least eight weeks.
When I accept a route I will finish it, even if it takes longer than I thought.
Would rather not fill in a form
Take the paper version instead. It asks exactly the same things, you can type straight into it or print it, and you can send it back whenever it suits you. Or just call us and we will go through it together on the phone.
