POLICY

Last updated: July 11, 2026

StreetDrop (“StreetDrop,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your information. We comply with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act(PIPA) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Who we are

StreetDrop is a door hanger and flyer distribution service based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We design, print, and deliver promotional materials directly to residential properties on behalf of local businesses. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, contact us at info@streetdrop.ca.

2. Information we collect

We collect personal information directly from you when you interact with our website, request a quote, book a campaign, or contact us. The categories include:

  • Contact details— name, business name, email, phone number, mailing address.
  • Campaign details— the zones, page sizes, durations, and artwork you submit when booking a distribution campaign.
  • Payment information — processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your full card number on our servers.
  • Identity and signature data — the typed legal name and drawn signature you provide when accepting a service agreement.
  • Technical data— browser type, device type, IP address, pages visited, and referrer, collected through standard server logs and cookies.

3. How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and prepare quotes.
  • Schedule, deliver, and verify your distribution campaigns (including GPS-tracked routing and proof-of-delivery photos).
  • Process payments and issue invoices and receipts.
  • Send you transactional emails (booking confirmations, delivery updates, receipts, contracts).
  • Maintain legal records of signed service agreements.
  • Improve our website, services, and customer experience.
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and lawful requests.

4. Who we share your information with

We share your personal information only as needed to deliver our services:

  • Print partners— to produce your physical door hangers and flyers.
  • Distribution couriers— to plan routes and verify deliveries.
  • Stripe— for secure payment processing.
  • Email and infrastructure providers — including Resend, Firebase, and Netlify, for sending transactional email and hosting your data.
  • Government and legal bodies— if required by law, court order, or to defend our legal rights.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising on other platforms.

5. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses essential cookies to keep your session active and remember your booking progress (we autosave a draft of your quote in your browser's local storage so you don't lose it). We may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand how visitors use the site, but we do not use third-party tracking cookies for advertising. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some features of the site may not work properly if you do.

6. How we protect your information

We protect your information with industry-standard safeguards: encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data in transit, encrypted storage at rest, restricted access for authorized staff only, and regular review of our security practices. Files you upload with your booking are stored on Firebase with 90-day signed URL access. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration of your data.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Booking and contract records are retained for at least seven (7) years for tax and legal compliance under Canadian law. You can request earlier deletion of marketing-related data at any time by emailing us.

8. Your rights

Under Alberta PIPA and Canadian PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Withdraw consent for our use of your information (where consent is the basis for processing). Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to deliver services.
  • Request deletion of personal information we no longer need to retain by law.
  • File a complaint with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@streetdrop.ca with your request. We'll respond within 30 days.

9. Children

Our services are designed for businesses, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via email or a clear notice on our website.

12. The StreetDrop mobile app

This section covers the StreetDrop mobile app for Android (package ca.streetdrop.app), distributed through Google Play. It applies in addition to the sections above, which continue to govern how we handle your information generally.

The app has two kinds of users, and what we collect depends on which one you are:

  • Couriers (staff): people who walk delivery routes and place door hangers and flyers. They use the app while on an active work shift.
  • Clients (business customers): businesses that hire us to distribute their flyers. They use the app to follow the progress of their campaign and view proof-of-delivery photos.

We do not sell any information collected through the app, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing. We do not build advertising profiles from it.

13. App permissions and what the app collects

The app asks for the following device permissions. Each one is requested only for the purpose listed, and Android will prompt you before granting it. You can decline or revoke any of them in your device settings.

  • Precise and approximate location (couriers only): while a courier is on an active shift, the app collects GPS location to show their assigned route and remaining addresses, track route progress so a campaign can be confirmed complete, and record where a delivery happened. Location is collected only while the app is open and a shift is active. The app does not request background location access and does not collect location when it is closed or when the courier is off shift. Clients do not have their location collected.
  • Camera (couriers only): used so a courier can take a proof-of-delivery photo showing that flyers or door hangers were placed. The camera is accessed only at the moment a courier chooses to take a photo. The app does not record continuously and does not record audio.
  • Photos and media: the app needs read access to images (and, on Android 12L and older devices, to device storage) so it can read the proof-of-delivery photo a courier captures or picks and upload it to the campaign record. We access only the image the courier deliberately submits. We do not scan, browse, or upload the rest of your photo gallery.
  • Notifications: if you allow notifications, we use a device push token to send delivery-related and campaign-related messages, such as a new route assignment or a campaign status update. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
  • Internet access:required for the app to reach StreetDrop's servers. The app does not function offline.

Alongside the permissions above, the app collects a courier's name and phone number to identify them and coordinate shifts, a client's business contact details to set up and discuss their campaign, basic app activity (such as which routes or campaigns were opened and when a delivery was marked complete), and diagnostic and crash data needed to keep the app working reliably.

Data from the app is stored on Google Firebase and Google Cloud Platform, which host and process it on our behalf. Proof-of-delivery photos and campaign progress are visible to StreetDrop staff and to the client who owns that campaign. Couriers see only the routes assigned to them.

14. App data retention and deletion

Route, campaign, and proof-of-delivery records, including delivery photos and the location tied to a completed delivery, are kept as part of the campaign record so clients can review completed work and we can maintain accurate service records. Courier and client account information is kept while the account or working relationship is active. Live shift location is not retained beyond what the route-tracking feature needs. The retention periods in section 7 also apply, including the seven (7) year hold on booking and contract records required for Canadian tax and legal compliance.

To request deletion of your app data or your account, email info@streetdrop.ca from the address associated with your account, with “App data deletion request” in the subject line. Tell us whether you want your account deleted entirely or only specific information removed. We will confirm your request and respond within 30 days, as described in section 8. We will delete your account and the personal information tied to it, except where we are required to keep records by law, in which case we will tell you what we are keeping and why.

You can also limit what the app collects without deleting anything, by turning off location, camera, or notification permissions in your device settings. Turning off location or camera access will prevent a courier from completing route tracking and proof-of-delivery work in the app.

The app is a business tool for couriers and business clients. The age restriction in section 9 applies to it as well.
